I heard that the NRL has to re-reimburse teams up to $40,000 for MNF due to poor crowds. Let's look at that over 5 years, the current NRL tv rights deal until 2017.
So, there are 25 MNF games each season (round 26 doesn't count).
25 x $40,000 = $1,000,000. Multiply that by 5 and we have $5,000,000.
The NRL is throwing away that money that could go to such a better cause.
Dave Smith need to man up and tell fox to STFU and have it OUR WAY.
If I was CEO... if only... the things I would do.
MNF - gone
Sunday night football - gone
2nd FNF game - gone (one live game is more than enough - besides who wants to hear Hadley commentate - especially on delay)
Sunday afternoon (3:00pm) GF - in.
