Well guys a little(maybe not so little)summary from my trip to the footy last night which saw our SG ball squad keep their slim finals chances alive. It was pretty much the first time I witnessed this squad finally "click".
Just a few noteable mentions from last nights game:
*Billy Magoulias- could there be life after Gal? Am I getting carried away? Let me explain. This former souths junior absolutely destroyed Illawarra single handily in the first half. Trailing 12-0 Billy crossed for a hatrick for the sharks to take a half time lead. Billy rolls up the sleeves, has a great ball skills, screams at blokes and has a bloody dig. He is as close to a Gal mould as possible. Short nuggety type who has plenty more growing(width wise) to go.
*Daniel Vasquez- absolute beast who ran wild. I don't really like talking up props in this age group but he deserves a mention. Hopefully he progresses well into NYC and beyond.
*Curtis Scott- Skillfull 3/4 who is very much the go to man in this team. Again another player who I really hope can progress through the grades to solve our ever so frequent 3/4 problem in first grade.
* Josh Tuilagi- monster of a winger who is always looking for extra work. Very impressed with his runs and his defence was not so bad in patches.
Illawarra Halfback was also very impressive. Quick little fella who was involved in all their tries.
Considering how disappointing our NYC team are, I hope these fellas I've mentioned get the call up so all you guys know what I'm on about
