#MCGsobig

The Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Matthew Hayden touched on it in his news.com.au column on Wednesday, writing the Kiwis had been “sitting in a comfort zone dominating on small grounds for the past two months”, having yet played a 2015 World Cup game outside of their homeland.

By Thursday, #MCGsobig was trending on Twitter, with Kiwis playing down the issue through humour.

This hilarious sequence from a parody Kane Williamson account was the best of the best.

1. #MCGsobig I walked out to inspect the pitch yesterday and I still haven't gotten there

2. Day 2 of quest to inspect pitch: beginning to lose hope. Cannot even see stumps. Grass stretching to the horizon. Supplies running low.

3. Have not eaten for 24 hrs. Corey desperate. 'We should eat Trent.' Stupid. No meat on that. #MCGsobig #SOS

4. Tim has lost it. Thinks he is cow. Mooing and eating grass. This is the longest he's gone without seeing his reflection. #MCGsobig

5. Abandoning mission. Will never reach pitch. Trying to attract help by making fire using Dan's glasses. #thankgodhewenttospecsavers #MCGsobig

6. Passing plane spotted our distress signal. On our way back to civilisation. Thanks for all your support. #MCGsobig

LOL good stuff
