For all you crowd watchers and #codeincrisis telegraph lovers like myself, time to keep an eye on the A-League and Rothfield as it gets down to the pointy end of the season.
Terrible scheduling, but the Wanderers had 7,239 turn up for their rescheduled rd10 match v M City at Parra last night, a season low and has helped their crowd average below that of last year: 14,860 v 14,040, a 5.5% decline thus far.
The A-League itself is also lurching towards going backwards with average crowds this season at 13,502 v 13,025 (for regular season matches) which is an increase of 3.5% thus far with 7 rounds still to be played. It was being hailed as up as much as 20% earlier in the season. What's happened?
Yes, the Asia Cup was a big event and could be contributing to soccer fatigue, but the Cricket World Cup didn't adversely impact on the Tests, ODI's or Big Bash, so no excuse really.
I hope those with twitter get their tweets ready for Rothfield and co if the crowds continue to decline. All stats can be found here: http://ift.tt/1GGsYfc
