MOST rugby league players get married during the off-season … but not one week out from the premiership kick-off.

Will Hopoate has always done things differently.

Like taking two years away from rugby league to study to become a Mormon.

And yesterday the Parramatta fullback got married to Jimicina Green — just six days before the blockbuster season-opener against his old club Manly.

It was a private affair held in a temple in Brisbane where he studied.

Only family and few of Hopoate’s closest friends attended the wedding.

Hopoate and Green — a fellow Mormon and McDonalds manager — met while Hopoate studied in Brisbane last year but only started dating in November.

They got engaged on December 12 with Green taking to Facebook last week to share her excitement about the wedding.

Posting a picture of herself in her Holy Communion dress Green wrote “Ever since I was a little girl I had always dreamt of becoming a bride haha..well the countdown is on. This time next week this little girls dreams comes true!”.

The couple has no plans for a honeymoon with the groom due back at Parramatta training tomorrow morning.

He's quick
