SMH are reporting that the NRL offered both sets of officials the option to postpone last nights match.
The weather was as bad as it can get with driving rain and almost category 1 cyclonic winds, but the playing surface held up remarkably well. Turns out the spectacle was pretty ok considering circumstances, but I wouldn't want to watch a game like that every week with bugger all ball movement.
The big impact was on the crowd with no-one in their right minds keen to brave the conditions.
