Well his first 2 games were no more impressive than Birds. Setting up and scoring tries, kicking for tries and the way he took on BJ the other night - wow. Hammered into the turf after being blindsided and then got up and won the contest by the end. Took him on defensively.
The problem for Bird will come in the coming weeks.
He now has a target on his head.
He has flown under the radar.

I remember seeing Foran interviewed on a sunday morning about 10 - 12 weeks into his first grade debut season. Manly had a bye. He was asked how he was. He said it was great to have a week off as his body needed a rest he was just totally hammered. The 80 mins of brutal contact was something he had never come close to in lower grades.
Bird needs to be managed sensibly. He will play like Foran. The tougher the contest the better.
A rest during games we may be winning in with Barba going to 6 will be sensible.
We don't play the Dogs til round 20. No need to remind anyone they have our badge on their tackling bags with Sludge Wakefield and speechley all mercilessly taken out. Two were never the same.
They played parramatta a few weeks back taking out beau champion, sammy ramradadadada and others. The eels finished with about 12 players.
They took out Isaac Luke and Reynolds last week. Accidental Des right?
They have 3 forwards over 300 Kgs in T Rex, Kasiano and Pritchard. Plus bully boy Graham who broke Sams cheekbone in tackle 1 of the GF - accidental right Des?
We are doing cartwheels about Bird and he will be counting the days til he can showcase against the premiers next week. He is tough - but cheap shot merchants love to make a name for themselves the only way they know how. Just hope busted shoulders knees and other joints don't halt his progress.
