A Trading Period is a Priority

A Trading Period is a Priority

So we are just the latest club to have to endure the ridiculous and tardy performance of a star player working out where he will play NEXT SEASON; before this season has started!

It takes me back to that absurd situation of James Maloney a few years back when he signed for the Roosters 20 months in advance. Ridiculous.

I was talking to a mate of mine in Melbourne yesterday who (like they all are) is AFL mad. He was laughing at the NRL for the way they let this type of situation unfold when it could be so easily avoided by having a restrictive trading period of 4-6 weeks that starts on the Monday morning after the GF. Not hard really.

You have to wonder what Dave Smith (isn’t he dreadful?) is doing. Doesn’t he know that supporters absolutely detest this type of activity? Smith has no feel for the game and has surrounded himself with a bunch of other “non NRL” executives.

Fix this appalling behaviour immediately Smith and let us supporters get down to supporting our teams for the coming season.
